| Hello Mark, its me XXXXX over on Big TXXXX Road and PXXXX - I got the last blue merle male puppy from you! I just wanted to give you an update. I LOVE this puppy! We named him Parker, and he is my pride and joy. The first couple of days were rough, as expected, but let me tell you I won't trade him for nothing! He's really growing - he's going to be big which is what I wanted. Within the first two weeks he was here he learned to sit, to go on leash, to down (on the second try) and shake! A couple weeks ago he learned to spin. We went to "instinct testing" a few weeks ago, I taught him some things that they didn't like, but they said he definitely has it! I'm not suppose to work him again until he is older though, so all cattle training has pretty much stopped! Last night we worked on calling off and calling him back which was good, he has sooo much drive, we needed to learn that. He went to work with me on Halloween - everyone adored him, he was soo well mannered, nobody could believe he was a puppy and his first time out. He also loves to get a bath, but loves swimming in the pond even more! He's become VERY protective of the yard which is good, he even fought with a veterinarian's dog who is a friend of mine who came to work cows a few weeks ago - her dog started it, Parker just made sure he had the last word before I pulled them apart! Needless to say they are both learning to be friends now! We also went to a herding trial a couple weeks ago, people there wanted to know where I got him, they loved how he was marked and how smart he is. Just wanted to say thank you! And let you know how he was doing! I'm really glad I found your number that night! He's all I wanted (not a female, but what the heck!) and then some, more then I really expected honestly. He has even got my old yellow dog to play with him, something I thought I would NEVER see! We're going to be working cows (training) again the Sunday after Thanksgiving around 2pm - there will be about 4 or 5 people up here if you'd like to stop by and say hello! See Parker. He won't be allowed to work, but he'll be here. He hangs back and watches so in the next few months, he knows what the competition is he has to whip on! Hope to hear from you soon! XXXXXX |
